The fertiliser revolution began in the 1950's in the USA and extended to Australia in the 1980's where we began to add nutrients to our soils to improve crop production. Now 30 years later, we are finding out new issues, revisiting old ones and learning from the start.

The fertiliser story is totally linked to the carbon story and to the erosion story and to Best Management Practices.
